Objectives

  1. To develop a comprehensive understanding of the appropriate techniques of research in Da’wah.
  2. To develop capabilities and efficiency in achieving independent research in Da’wah.
  3. To develop a high degree of independence of thought in Da’wah.
  4. To make a significant original contribution to the existing knowledge of Da’wah and practice.
  5. To promote and develop the graduates’ ability to interact & reach Islam through their commitment with the prophetic methods of Da’wah.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Preparing deeper and more scientific approaches in the study of Da’wah at higher levels.
  2. Understanding new issues that need to be dealt, addressed and treated effectively with concrete scientific manners.
  3. The extension of research, studies and efforts in Da’wah field, and its relation with the society to make use of them in various fields.
  4. Strengthens the spirit of Islamic belief in the hearts and minds of Muslims.
  5. Deepens the spirit of compassion, love and togetherness between the generation of researchers & Muslims.
  6. Supplying the Islamic library with solid and valuable researches in Islamic Da’wah that can contribute in treating certain old and contemporary Islamic and social issues.

Entry Requirements

A candidate admitted into postgraduate studies shall posses the following minimum qualification:

  1. The applicant shall posses a Master’s Degree in a related field from MEDIU or equivalent from a recognized university.
  2. Any other academic qualifications equivalent to [requirement #1], as approved by the Senate.
  3. The Board of Postgraduate Studies may impose additional conditions as required.

Language

  1. In addition to the entry requirements, the applicant is also required to provide a sufficient level of the Arabic language proficiency in the specializations taught in Arabic language through passing the university’s Arabic language placement test (MAPT) or equivalent. 
  2. The Senate may exempt the Arabic language requirement for applicants who have obtained their degrees where Arabic has been used as the main medium of instruction, those who obtained good grades in Arabic language programs from MEDIU or Arabic is their mother tongue.
  3. If the student fails to fulfill the Arabic language requirements (per above), or fails to pass an interview, the applicant is required to sit for MEDIU’s Arabic language placement test (MAPT).

STRUCTURE A

The applicant is required to study a subject named Research Methodology, then the applicant can start the research under the supervision of an academic member of the Postgraduate Studies Department.
