Master In Da’wah

Vision

To aim for an academic Shari’ah educational program of the highest standard, that will establish a firmly rooted knowledge base for the Islamic Da‘wah movement, which will enable it to proceed with clear vision, calling to the way its Lord with wisdom and beautiful exhortation.

Mission

  1. To provide the student with knowledge of the methods, means and principles of Da‘wah, in order for him/her to realize the values of his Muslim identity and to embark upon the process of cultivating personal understanding and inviting to Allah’s straight path.
  2. To increase the student’s capacity for understanding and adherence to the values and requirements of faith by virtue of his increased familiarity with fundamental Islamic values.
  3. To prepare the student with interpersonal and practical skills that will enable him/her to relate to the society at large for the purpose of conveying Allah’s message.

Objective

  1. The aims of the programme are to prepare graduates with:

    1. In-depth mastery of knowledge in a sub-area of Da`wah and are capable of analyzing and synthesizing different opinions among the scholars.
    2. The ability to apply principles, theories and methods of the sub-area of da`wah in relevant contemporary settings
    3. The ability to carry out comparative studies involving islamic thought, religions and humanities
    4. Demonstrate in depth mastery of knowledge in the field Da’wah including the ability to analyse thoughts and ideas from classical (turath) as well as modern sources

Learning Outcomes

  1. At the end of the programme, students should be able to:

    1. Demonstrate advanced knowledge in Da`wah including competence to deal with related classical sources (turath) in the field.
    2. Apply relevant guindance and methods in Da`wah in dealing with currents issues.
    3. Solve problems analytically and critically by applying knowledge, principles and skills in Da`wah.
    4. Apply interpersonal skills and memorable communication.

Entry Requirements

  1. A relevant Bachelor’s degree (Honours) with good grades from MEDIU, or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the university OR any other certificate that is recognized as equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) or other relevant professional qualification and experience that are recognized by the University.
  2. A relevant General Bachelor’s degree (without Honours) with at least one year working experience, and, if deemed necessary, an applicant may be interviewed and/or required to sit for an entrance test in order to determine determine the applicants eligibility for admission to a specific programme.
  3. The department of faculty may, with the approval of the University Academic Council (UAC), require the applicant to satisfy additional conditions for admission to a specific programme.

Arabic Language:

Applicants interested to enroll in programmes where the medium of instruction is in Arabic must pass the MEDIU’s Arabic Placement Test (MAPT) before being admitted to the program.

A: RESEARCH

The applicant is required to study a subject named Research Methodology, then the applicant can start the research under the supervision of an academic member of the Postgraduate Studies Department.
