Objectives

1. To develop a comprehensive understanding of the appropriate techniques of research, as shown by the application.
2. To develop capabilities and efficiency in achieving independent research in the Islamic belief doctrine.
3. To make a significant and original contributions to the existing knowledge of Aqidah and practice.
4. To create a generation of highly qualified researchers & specialists able to think and act constructively, with regard the contemporary issues in Islamic belief which affect the establishment of pious & conscious society in manners and behavior.
5. To strengthen and develop the abilities of graduates in order to interact and spread Islam through their high commitment with the methods of Da’wah practiced by Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w).

Learning Outcomes

1. Prepare deeper academic approaches in the study of Aqidah at higher levels.
2. Spread research and studies to be applied and taken advantage in various fields.
3. Strengthen the spirit of Islamic belief in the Muslim hearts and minds.
4. Deepen the spirit of love, sympathy and togetherness between the generation of researchers and the Muslims through promoting the right belief.
5. Supply the Islamic library with solid & valuable research in Islamic belief that can contribute in providing some solutions and treatment to certain old and contemporary problematics issues.

Entry Requirements

A candidate admitted into postgraduate studies shall posses the following minimum qualification:

1. The applicant shall posses a Master’s Degree in a related field from MEDIU or equivalent from a recognized university.
2. Any other academic qualifications equivalent to [requirement #1], as approved by the Senate.
3. The Board of Postgraduate Studies may impose additional conditions as required.

Language

1. In addition to the entry requirements, the applicant is also required to provide a sufficient level of the Arabic language proficiency in the specializations taught in Arabic language through passing the university’s Arabic language placement test (MAPT) or equivalent. 
2. The Senate may exempt the Arabic language requirement for applicants who have obtained their degrees where Arabic has been used as the main medium of instruction, those who obtained good grades in Arabic language programs from MEDIU or Arabic is their mother tongue.
3. If the student fails to fulfill the Arabic language requirements (per above), or fails to pass an interview, the applicant is required to sit for MEDIU’s Arabic language placement test (MAPT).

STRUCTURE A

The applicant is required to study a subject named Research Methodology, then the applicant can start the research under the supervision of an academic member of the Postgraduate Studies Department.
