Vision
Having a high quality and standard Shari’ah education that transcends the scientific capacities of the students and enable them to conduct deep studies and researches in the field of Usul al-Fiqh.
Mission
- Preparing students and promoting their learning in the area of Usul al-Fiqh, the deep study of al-Mazahib, the scholars opinions and their differences in various issues.
- Developing students’ skill in understanding Usul al-Fiqh and having the ability to search and ponder over methodological problems and issues.
- Developing the behavioral and practical student skill that is necessary for communicating with the society to convey the values of Shari’ah that are concerned with emergent salient issues.
Objective
-
- Equip the students to become the highest level of disciples in widest scope of the Science of Shari’ah.
- Provide the graduates with a strong knowledge of Shari’ah.
- Actualize graduates Islamic legal system abilities socially.
- Develop the skills of study in the field of Jurisprudence and the research and training in various areas of legitimacy.
- Accustom the student and train them in field of Fatwa, so they can graduate and work in the field of Fatwa.
Learning Outcomes

- Gradually attain the highest level of knowledge seeking skills.
- Disseminate throughout the world the sciences of Shari’ah and become an ambassador for his/her nation at home and abroad.
- Strengthen the spirits of brotherhood and compassion among Muslims around the world.
- Guide and intensify efforts in training and emulate Rasulullah (s.a.w), to be a role model for others in the ethics and behaviour.
Entry Requirements
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree (Honours) with good grades from MEDIU, or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the university OR any other certificate that is recognized as equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) or other relevant professional qualification and experience that are recognized by the University.
- A relevant General Bachelor’s degree (without Honours) with at least one year working experience, and, if deemed necessary, an applicant may be interviewed and/or required to sit for an entrance test in order to determine determine the applicants eligibility for admission to a specific programme.
- The department of faculty may, with the approval of the University Academic Council (UAC), require the applicant to satisfy additional conditions for admission to a specific programme.
Arabic Language:
Applicants interested to enroll in programmes where the medium of instruction is in Arabic must pass the MEDIU’s Arabic Placement Test (MAPT) before being admitted to the program.

STRUCTURE A: RESEARCH
The applicant is required to study a subject named Research Methodology, then the applicant can start the research under the supervision of an academic member of the Postgraduate Studies Department.
